WELCOME TO HEALDSBURG ROTARY

Community Service Policy

The Rotary Club of Healdsburg makes annual contributions to worthy community organizations. The Community Service Projects Committee meets regularly to review requests received.

The focus of this committee is to support projects located in the Healdsburg area that fall into one or more of the following categories:

  • Youth
  • Elderly
  • Disadvantaged
  • Health
  • Poverty
  • Literacy
  • Education

Requests should be made in writing, addressed to, Community Service Projects Committee, The Rotary Club of Healdsburg, PO Box 671, Healdsburg, CA 95448.

When making a request please keep in mind the following:

  1. Community need must be present and identifiable.
  2. Requesting groups must be tax-exempt.
  3. A specific dollar cap must be considered.
  4. Special attention is given to groups with:
    • Efficient and effective administration of funds and programs.
    • Plentiful volunteer support.
    • Programs which serve large numbers of people.
    • Programs with long-term effects
    • Programs that encourage wide community support.
    • A request for matching funds (not necessarily on a 1:1 ratio.)

The Rotary Club of Healdsburg makes every effort to direct its contributions where they have the greatest impact while addressing the most critical needs. We receive far more requests than there is money available and acknowledge up front that we are unable to fund every worthy endeavor. As a general rule, we will not make contributions to:

  • Churches or religious organizations for purpose of religious advocacy.
  • Funding for individuals.
  • School programs or projects which benefit one individual versus a group of students
  • Unrestricted operating funds.
  • An ongoing commitment.
  • Any pending controversial public measure.
