Healdsburg Rotary President's Message

I am the President of the Healdsburg Rotary Club for 2013-2104 and would love to share with you what we are and what we do, and in my mind, what makes us so special.

We are truly a "Service" Club, working hard to make things better for our community and the world.  I have been so impressed by the response in our club when there are tasks to be done, jobs to do, children to be taught or even money to raise.  We have an exceptional club, everyone works, every one gives of themselves, everyone helps out.  We also have fun, of course, but our true mission is service to others.

Some of the things I am most proud of are noted here:  We have an excellent scholarship program that has burgeoned and grown over the last decade so that now we are able to provide more help for more people on our community.  We give aide to communities all over the world to help with education and health and clean water.  We have been the leader in our Rotary District in the amount of money given yearly to eradicate polio in the world.  As a physician, I have seen the ravages of polio and the fear of polio in prior generations in our country, but we can make polio go away world wide. We are close!   We have helped with local adult and child education, with local health issues, with local gardening, with local beautification, with local library projects;  you name a need in this community and we have responded.

You can see that I am proud of our local Rotary Club, and I am happy to be its President.  Come join us at Tayman Park Golf Course at Noon on Mondays.   You will see what I am proud of!

David Anderson, MD
